COPYWRITER and ONLINE CONTENT SPECIALIST
at CSULB (Anywhere)
Responsibilities:
- Promote the efficient application of resources to web-based communications.
- Guide the content creation, display, and continuous improvement of website content.
- Act as the "voice of the brand" by creating relevant and creative copy across multiple channels.
- Align projects and objectives with the direction and strategy of marketing initiatives to maintain a consistent voice throughout all customer-facing marketing avenues.
- Develop editorial content as needed for Catalog, Newsletters, Annual Reports, and other marketing efforts.
- Gather information from multiple departments to populate content of many web pages.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Proven ability to manage online content, including websites, HTML e-mails, digital ads, social media, and other forms of digital communications. Must possess a clear, compelling writing style accompanied by excellent editing and organizational skills. Excellent proofreading skills. Expert level attention to detail. Excellent search engine optimization skills preferred. Proven ability to build consensus and work effectively within and across teams. Proven ability to successfully manage multiple concurrent projects. Strong formal project management skills preferred. Knowledge of copyright laws applicable to design work and creative properties.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
Education and Experience:
Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of related professional experience writing, editing, and proofreading copy in preparation for publishing via print or digital means required. Experience with all applicable software packages such as Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite. Experience with content management systems and databases preferred. Experience writing copy for an academic institution is a plus.
Salary:
The salary range for this classification is $3,469 to $5,201 per month. Starting salary may be set as high as $4,333 per month based on experience.
Appointment Dates:
Full-time, temporary position for one year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
